The Great Zooga
Once upon a time in a world less real than ours, there was Zooga – The great prosperous land where the native Keekies and the ancient migrants of the Tumbu and Raras harmoniously lived in peaceful serenity. For 5000 years, Zooga flourished – with any friction or issues that might be problematic, brushed down into their magical willow tree. The magical willow tree will open its great bark and hide any problems of Zooga. It was a blessing everyone grew to love and cherish. The magical willow tree was also known to the more enlightened monks of Zooga as ‘Sai- lance’.
.
.
One day, a few wise monks of the Tumbu and Rara species suggested to the elders of Zooga that ‘Sai-lance’ should be given a rest. The tree was old and the younger Zooga people were slowly idolising a new tree in the jungle, ‘Low-Jeek’. The Elders were furious! It was by religion that the ‘Sai – lance’ willow tree be honoured and they threatened to throw the wise monks of Tumbu and Rara into the willow tree’s strong crushing barks. By Golly! Were the Raras and Tumbu monks afraid! They feared for their lives and swore on honouring ‘Sai – Lance’ in exchange for authority and an eternal blessing from the Zooga elders.
.
.
The Zooga elders made it against the law for anyone to speak, or even think about idolising anything but the magical willow tree. Those who did were cursed and ripped off their magical enchantments, and some say, even magically disappeared!
.
.
However, the new ‘Low-Jeek’ tree was slowly gaining popularity amongst the Tumbu, Raras and even the Keekies. Many secretly worshiped the new tree as they started to see the elders of Zooga throwing more and more rubbish into the old willow tree, ‘Sai – lance’. Everyone knew the poor willow tree was getting too old and a new tree should take its place in pursuit of peace.
.
.
One quiet night on the 8th moon and thirty first hour of Aquarius, the Zooga Kingdom trembled. The earth shook with the force of a stampede with a million stallions, and the sky turned crimson like the blood of slaughtered innocence. ‘Sai – Lance’, the magical willow tree was struck by lightnings no one in Zooga could explain. The tree was torn into 513 pieces and it’s bark burnt to herbs. Zooga’s mounting issues and troubles gushed out of the old dead tree and flooded the Zooga Kingdom. Many tears were shed and many lives were taken as the younger generation of Zooga – The Keekies, The Tumbus and The Raras was overwhelmed by the tsunami waves of broken ‘Sai – Lance’.
.
.
In desperation, Zoogans looked up to the sky for divine help, drenched in hopelessness as the clouds cuddled and poured more sorrow. As the water levels rose, the towering ‘Low-Jeek’ tree stood out like a plumb in a pie over Vien DiDa Hill. Zoogans, strong at heart, climbed onto ‘Low-Jeek’ and hid under its giant green leaves. Safe from the torment below.
.
.
Staying under shelter for 19 nights and 57 days, the Zoogans lived hard consoling themselves – trying hard to forgive their perished Zoogan elders and the magical willow tree. Eating only ‘Low-Jeek’ branches and drinking only its dew, the Keekies, Tumbus and Raras magically evolved - physically and mentally to look, feel, act and share the same soul – they called their new race ‘One’.
.
.
Enlightened, they carried on climbing the ‘Low-Jeek’ tree as it grew taller and bigger…it is said that the flood will take 8 generations to fully subside. The Ones knows this, as they continue climbing their new found religion, ‘Low-Jeek’ and struggle to find peace with their past ancestral Zoogan ideologies. Happy ever after is after this they believe. Do you?
